Comparison of cross-dock storage systems concepts using computer simulation
Zámečník, Lukáš ; Hloska, Jiří (referee) ; Urbánek, Michal (advisor)
With the increasing demand for fast delivery of goods, cross-dock storage systems are growing in popularity, while the demand for autonomous storage systems is also increasing. In response to these trends, this diploma thesis compares the manual and autonomous concepts of the warehousing system mentioned above. In order to compare the two variants, layouts and concepts of manual and autonomous warehouses were designed and used to create simulation models. Siemens's Tecnomatix Plant Simulation software was used to create the simulation models. Created simulation models were used to perform simulation experiments to determine which concept was more efficient. Finally, the optimization of the better-evaluated option was performed. The optimization solutions that were proposed in order to achieve the objectives of the work were implemented in the simulation models. Subsequently, experimental verification of their function was performed.
